The 300 thousandth of the Ford Focus car was launched at the Vsevolzhsvk factory, after seven years of the factory itself, the official opening day of which was July 9, 2002.
To date, Ford in Vsevolozhsk is collecting all 4 models of the Ford Focus body: sedan, station wagon and three and four five -door hitchbeats. In addition to Focus this spring, Ford Mondeo has begun.
Meanwhile, the company works according to a shortened principle due to a sharp drop in sales of cars. During the first months of this year, demand fell by 47%, and according to the end of the end of May, by 57%. Meanwhile, this Ford Focus model is so far the best -selling car model among foreign cars. The second place is Renault Logan, and the third — Chevrolet Lacetti.
During the design and release of the first versions, the model wore the factory number CW170, after testing the car received the name Focus familiar to everyone. The name has come from the Ghia concept, which was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show Motor Show in 1991. However, even earlier, Ford represented innovations to the “court of spectators”, which after some time appeared in the configuration of the model, for example, the security system and the rear block of the light signs, which was located at the eye level of the driver. The first photos that journalists managed to receive were published in 1995, a year later the Ford KA prototype appeared, and in 1998, Ford Cougar. At the same time, the company’s management decided to name the new Ford Focus model, which has received worldwide recognition and is a “selling brand” to date. The already updated model was presented at the Motor Show on December 3, 2007, at about the same time the car went to mass production, and immediately at the beginning of next year went on sale. Like its “ancestor”, the new car fell in love with customers, becoming a worthy continuation of the Focus stylistic line. The so -called “kinetic design” became part of the model, which became a recognizable business card of the car, but only the roof remained from the external appearance of the previous model, but the rear bumper was quite updated, the spoiler was added and the shape of the rear -view mirrors was added significantly.
Experts say that most of the elements were borrowed from another concern model, namely from Ford Mondeo. It is so clear that the developers took the headlights, the hood with its relief, made the selection of the wheeled arch, some features of the car interior, as well as the location of the display, handles and some other little things. Currently, Ford Forus is one of the best cars in the world, becoming the most purchased model not only in the «native» market, but also around the world.
