Building a house — a fairly expensive event. So why not save and install windows in the house yourself? At first glance, the process of preparing and installing window systems may seem difficult. However, having all the necessary materials, tools and clearly following the instructions, you can do without the help of specialists.
First you should prepare a window hole. Using a hammer and a chisel, we adjust the lower part of the masonry. To obtain a construction solution, mix 4 parts of clean sand and 1 part of the cement. Prepare the tool to improve plasticity according to the instructions and add to the resulting composition to the required consistency. The finished mixture is evenly laid out on the entire surface of the opening.
We place the windowsill on the bottom of the wall so that it hangs over it by at least 30-40 mm. Using the construction level, check the quality of the installation of the window sill and leave the structure at night to dry.
The next step will be the preparation of a moisture -resistant bar. To do this, it is necessary to cut the strip equal to the length of the window opening from the sheet of stainless steel. In the groove of the windowsill we put the construction composition or dense mastic. We lay a metal strip on top of the mixture and cover it with a thick solution.
Before installing the frame, cut the protrusions at the ends of the crossbars, if any. Then we place the window block in the opening and fix it with wedges from above and below. Be sure to make sure that the window is tight and evenly, and its sash can open freely and close.
To fix the window structure, we mark with a pencil of 2-3 latches so that they do not coincide with the seams between the bricks. Next, drill holes in the marked places to the depth recommended by the manufacturer and drive into them dowels. Next, screw the screws or screws and cover the places of the inserts with special plastic caps or wooden traffic jams.
The joints between the window frame and the wall are carefully filled with the construction composition. It is advisable to do this both from the inner and outer side of the house. After the solution froze, we cover the seams with a sealing composition.
At the end of the work, apply plaster to the walls around the window and window sill, covering the frame with a board or a canvas in advance, and smooth out the surface adjacent to them.
