Foam (or polystyrene foam) is a unique thermal insulation material, which can be used in relation to any building structures: walls, foundation, roof, sex. Good qualities in the field of thermal insulation owe to their distinctive properties. Consider them in more detail.
1. Formalness. This is the main property that determines the quality of the insulation. Foam does not change its geometric shapes and dimensions over time. Therefore, if it is initially correctly laid, then the possibility of the appearance of cracks and voids in it is minimized.
2. Thermal conductivity. In polystyrene foam, it is lower than in mineral wool, wood, expanded clay concrete, brick and reinforced concrete, which is an undoubted advantage.
3. Low water absorption. Even the foam completely immersed in water per day absorbs it by only 2 % of its own volume. Thus, the use of polystyrene polystyrene allows you not to use special water -protective membranes.
4. Frost resistance, t.e. the ability to withstand repeated freezing and thawing. As tests show, in conditions of harsh winter polystyrene slabs can be operated for 100 years or more.
5. Fire safety. Foam is a self -replaced material. This means that it is completely fireproof and can be used even at objects of increased danger of uncontrolled fire.
And, of course, another undoubted advantage of polystyrene foam is its low cost compared to other thermal insulation materials.
