How to arouse interest in a product that has not yet entered the market? It was such a difficult but interesting task that Lucas Douul, director of the Live Communication and Social Media department, with his group from Volvo Cars, Gotheborg, Sweden,. The group suggested the idea to invite the famous Turkish artist Esref Armagan to Sweden to get acquainted with the new Volvo S60 and paint the picture from it. The film with the preliminary display of S60 «blindly» can be viewed on your own Webcute Volvo Cars on Facebook, at www. Facebook. COM/Volvo. It can also be found on YouTube
“Although the presentation of the car itself will only occur at the Geneva Auto Show next year, for us it is a unique opportunity to demonstrate what the future car is an extraordinary artist,” says Lucas Douul.
Esreph Armagan defines the shape of the object that he draws with the help of hands and other senses. He participated in a series of research projects. For example, the Discovery channel released an exciting documentary in which Professor John Kennedy from the Toronto University demonstrates the ability of Esreph to grasp the correct prospect. This crosses out all previous views on blind people and the possibilities of their perception. Esref Armagan painted everything, starting with historical buildings, sea landscapes, flowers and forests to a portrait of former US President Bill Clinton.
But this is his first attempt to transfer an adoremobile to the canvas! “Such a proposition is a great honor for me, and I perceive it as a confirmation of my capabilities as an artist,” says Esreph Armagan.
In the Volvo Cars Design Studio in Gotorg, Sweden, Esref Armagan met with the director of design Peter Horbury. It was a fruitful meeting during which Peter Horbury showed the artist this secret, which is so carefully guarded. “I am proud of the new Volvo S60. He has a much more sophisticated and dynamic form than any of the previous Volvo — and this is a very expressive form. That is why this project seems so exciting — we present our future model to a special person — a blind artist, ”says Peter Horbury.
On October 19, on 400 blogs around the world, the first video was posted with exciting photos of a car, replacing one another video with this video can be viewed and discussed on the website of the Volvo Cars on Facebook. Also, motorists can ask Esref Armagan to draw specific parts of the car.
Today, October 26, the film can be viewed on Facebook completely. The representation of a blind artist about Volvo S60 is published for the first time. “Working with Esref Armagan is simply incredible, he perceives life in all its manifestations, lives“ to the full ”, despite his vice. This position completely coincides with our desire to live a full -fledged life, ”says Lucas Douul.
