Paints.
The basis of paint can be water, emulsion or olifa, varnishes and resins. In the manufacture of paint, alkyd resin and linseed oil (binders) and carriers are used, different for each individual basis.
There are specifical colors (luminous, resistant to radiation, reflecting, heat -resistant, electrical insulating and chemical).
In addition to liquid colors, there are powder compositions that are made on the basis of synthetic substances, film -forming, and pigments. They are used for various heat -resistant materials — glass, metal, concrete, ceramics.
Modern colors include special chemical additives that give the paints of additional capabilities. The paints are divided into several types: silicate (base — liquid glass), emulsion (base — aqueous dispersion), adhesive (base — aqueous solutions of organic polymers), alkyd (these are oil paints of which olifa and enamel are the basis of which varnishes).
Emulsion paints are divided into water-based, paints based on polymers and water-dispersion. Since emulsion paints do not contain organic solvents, they are explosive and fireproof, they are non-toxic, resistant to alkalis, but not frost-resistant. Emulsion paints are diluted with water.
Silicate paint due to the fact that liquid glass is literally adultery with the surface, very durable (can stay up to 25 years). That is why it is painted by all the facades of city buildings.
Glue paint is perfect for painting internal walls. But it should be remembered that they dissolve in water, so they do not need to paint basements, kitchens and bathrooms.
Alkyd paints are atmosphere -resistant and have a glossy shine. They have high resistance to detergents.
When choosing paint, the main thing is to remember that each type is specially created for appropriate use.
