Dry streams is one of the traditional varieties of creating reservoirs that came to us from Japan, widely used for the design of territories, which for one reason or another were deprived of the opportunity to create a real pond or stream.
If your house or dacha is on a area that does not have the opportunity to create your own reservoir, but you want to get it with such a miracle — this idea is the best suited for you!
So, what is needed in order to create such a stream?.. Firstly, you need to decide on the place where you plan to create the future of the channel, remembering that for beautiful design-you need to make the start and end point, decorating them so that the feeling that only part of the stream is visible on the site. For such purposes, reeds or pampas grass, old boulders and snags are perfect. You can even buy interior doors for a country house in the same style that will repeat the elements of the landscape.
Next, it is necessary to outline the curve along which the future will srack. At this stage, it is worth remembering that the line should be heterogeneous, uneven in width, not to be straight and not to run linear. For marking, it is advisable to use sand — so you can try several different options to choose the one that will like the most. Experiment!
Having chosen a place for the future stream, you can proceed to its creation. A shallow is dug up on the intended line (15-35 cm.) a trench with gentle edges, which is poured with a thin layer of concrete to exclude the possibility of weeds. When the base is ready, the creative part begins — the selection of stones for the channel. The choice is very wide: from light, bluish shale and basalt to marble, granite and limestone. Combinations of stones of different colors look very beautiful.
Laying is performed manually and relies on your taste — only one rule is significant: on the shores the stones should be larger, placed chaotic, while the bottom is covered with fine pebbles. Large boulders or islands look great in wider places. When arranging stones, it is important to remember that they should not create a continuous or even line — a chaotic, random -looking placement looks much more natural. The space between large stones should also be filled with fine pebbles or pebbles. And finally — remember that really spectacular results are most often based on combinations of various colors and shapes!
